Dear COE Students,
We are nearly half way into a very exciting academic year. You can probably feel the energy being generated by great students, committed staff, and world-class faculty. I am writing to inform you that our faculty and staff are now engaged in some very exciting planning efforts that will result in new and reinvigorated curricula, additional educational and clinical services, and more society-leading research, discovery, and dissemination. I seek your participation in this planning effort.
I have saved slots for your participation on our seven planning groups listed below. You will note that three of our groups are already underway and need only student members. I ask that you consider joining one of these faculty and staff committees for the Winter and Spring terms. I think that you will find participation in this work to be a meaningful professional development opportunity.
Please contact Lisa Fortin at lfortin at uoregon.edu<mailto:lfortin at uoregon.edu> by March 2 to express your interest in serving on one of these committees.
Regards,
Randy

Research Questions:
-How are collaboration, inclusion, innovation, equity, and mission reflected in our budget? In other words, is our spending aligned with our values and strategic priorities?
-What is the appropriate level of budgetary analysis; individual faculty, academic program area, department, or college? Does the unit of analysis depend on the question being asked? If so, what are the questions?

-Should we deactivate or not admit students to academic programs with several years of less than desired enrollments?
-Should we offer courses, certifications, workshops, degree programs in Portland, or other cities (e.g., Hong Kong)?
