Dr. Joe Stevens will summarize NCAASE studies of academic growth for students with disabilities (SWD) and students without disabilities (SWoD) including:

* Longitudinal growth in math/reading by specific exceptionality

*                  Within-year vs. between-year growth

* Achievement gaps by exceptionality; gap change over time

* Evaluating partial effects vs. true interaction effects and full interpretation of cross-level interactions in hierarchical linear models

* Evaluating achievement gaps as a point vs. an area estimate

* Issues with time-varying covariates (SWD, ELL status)

* Issues in and alternative models for estimating school effects
