Dear Colleagues:

I am pleased to inform you that Interim Provost Bronet has announced the 2014-2015 UO Fund for Faculty Excellence (FFE) award recipients. This program was begun in 2006 thanks to a generous gift by Lorrey I. Lokey as a way for the University of Oregon to recognize outstanding faculty members who improve our academic quality and reputation through the amazing work that they do. Given the broad criteria for excellence this award represents, it is no exaggeration to rank it among the highest honors the University of Oregon bestows upon any individual faculty member.

In each of the years the FFE has been awarded, the COE has been fortunate to count one or more recipients among our ranks. This year is no different, and it is my great pleasure to share that Dr. Beth Stormshak has received one of these 13 university-wide awards. Dr. Stormshak was nominated for this award in part because of the impact her work has had in strengthening the connections between school-based support systems and individual families, her formation and leadership of the Prevention Science Institute and the work that takes place there, and her exemplary service to the college, the university and her profession. Her accomplishment in these areas is worthy of broad recognition and I hope that you will join me in celebrating an honor well-deserved.

Congratulations, Beth!

Warmly,

Randy
