Subject: Cellular testing crew on campus
Hello Building Managers,
August is a time when many of our vendors try to get work accomplished before the beginning of school.
Pepsi/Bigfoot has been on campus to change out all beverage and snack vending machines (over 120 machines).
Campus Wide Parking Lot Striping started last week.
And below is a message from UO Information Services discussing a project beginning this week and lasting through September 19th.
Thank you for your understanding as these vendors access campus buildings.

UO Information Services is working with Verizon and AT&T to improve cellular coverage and public safety radio service on campus as part of the Distributed Antenna System (DAS) project. Crews will be on campus from August 18 through approximately September 19 to take measurements of cellular and radio signal levels in campus buildings and open spaces. Matthew Knight Arena and Knight Library already have cellular and radio coverage systems installed so there will be no new testing in those facilities.
In most cases, the crews will be able to walk corridors and walkways without disturbing any UO activities. They will not require access to smaller rooms such as offices or residence hall bedrooms. Larger rooms may need to be accessed. However, the testing process only requires that a member of the testing crew walk through the space while the backpack-mounted equipment takes its measurements. We will work with building managers to coordinate times for access to sensitive areas.
The testing crews will be identified by photo ID badges that read "Information Services Contractor". An example of this photo ID is attached.
Questions or concerns related to this work can be directed to Eric Fullar in Information Services (x6-1015 or efullar at uoregon.edu<mailto:efullar at uoregon.edu>).
