coe-staff: UO Campus-Wide IT Maintenance Tonight and Tomorrow (6/20-6/21)

All,

I am forwarding the contents of an important message about campus-wide IT maintenance that will take place starting tonight at 7:00pm.  The maintenance should be complete by 7:00 am Saturday morning (6/21).

Please be aware this will affect all email (webmail and UO Exchange)!  During this maintenance window, users will not be able to send or receive e-mail messages through any "uoregon.edu" accounts. However, all incoming e-mail messages sent to you will be stored and delivered after the work has been completed.

Below are the details of the service interruption for tonight through tomorrow morning.

Many campus services (listed below) will be offline from Friday, June 20, at 7:00PM PDT to 7:00AM PDT on Saturday, June 21.

Unavailable services:

*             E-mail, both IMAP and Exchange
*             UO Websites (including education.uoregon.edu)
*             Webmail
*             Blackboard
*             RT (ithelp.uoregon.edu)
*             Banner
*             IDR
*             Resource25 and 25Live
*             Document Imaging
*             UOCloud VMs
*             Shared storage


Services that will be available or partially available:

*             Ethernet
*             Wireless (may experience brief outages)
*             Status website, status.uoregon.edu
*             DuckWeb
*             Web authentication (Shibboleth and CAS)
*             UO Blogs

Incoming e-mail messages sent to you will be stored and delivered after the work has been completed. During this work, users will not be able to send or receive e-mail messages.

We hope that doing this work early on a Saturday will alleviate most concerns about the outage itself. During the window, we will note service status on the Status website at http://status.uoregon.edu.
