Dr. Ann M. Fox, Ph.D.

Dr. Fox is Associate Professor of English at Davidson College in North
Carolina who specializes in modern and contemporary dramatic literature and
disability studies. Her current book project traces the representation of
disability on the 20th-century commercial stage. Dr. Fox has served on the
executive board of the Society for Disability Studies and has also
co-curated disability-related visual arts exhibitions. Her scholarship on
disability and theater has appeared in numerous publications. Dr. Fox earned
her M.A. and Ph.D. in English at Indiana University, Bloomington.

 



Dr. Mel Y. Chen, Ph.D.

Professor Mel Y. Chen is an associate Professor of Gender and Women's
Studies at UC Berkeley and the author of Animacies: Biopolitics, Racial
Mattering, and Queer Affect (Duke, 2012). Dr. Chen's research interests
include disability studies, queer and gender theory, animal studies,
critical race theory, disability studies, and critical linguistics. Dr. Chen
currently serves on the board of directors for the Society for Disability
Studies. Dr. Chen's short film, Local Grown Corn (2007), explores
interweavings of immigration, childhood, illness, and friendship, and has
played at queer and Asian film festivals.
