coe-staff: Our Classified Staff

Hello everyone:

As you probably are already aware, there have been some difficulties in the negotiation of the new contract for the classified staff who serve the OUS institutions, including UO.  As it stands, unless a tentative agreement is reached during bargaining this week, the SEIU has voted and is scheduled to begin a general strike next Monday, September 30.

I am sending this message today to remind all of you that this is a difficult time of uncertainty and struggle for our classified staff, no matter the eventual outcome of negotiations, and I encourage you to show them the support all our employees deserve and which they have especially earned through their dedication to and enthusiasm for our shared work.
