coe-staff: UO Senate notes

Hi Colleagues -
I've been a bit remiss in my note-taking, but here are the notes from the March and April meetings of the UO Senate.  Any mistakes are mine, please see the Senate website for links to detailed minutes and full text of all motions.  This week's meeting was especially interesting due to the motion that passed providing Senate support to include the UO constitution in the collective bargaining agreement being negotiated between United Academics and the University Administration. This gives the constitution legal underpinnings that it currently does not have.  The motion also affirmed senate support for shared governance between the faculty and the administration to be included in the CBA.

There is a specially scheduled Senate meeting next week to address a motion to pass an Academic Freedom motion (previously presented to former President Lariviere, but redlined to be totally worthless by General Counsel) and to address issues of the 10th year review of the committee structure of the university (there's also a motion concerning this that was passed at this week's meeting).
