coe-staff: Dean Bullis Health Update

Dear COE Colleagues:

This message is to inform you that Dean Bullis will be undergoing unplanned heart surgery later this week after experiencing a cardiac event over the weekend.  The doctors expect him to be unable to drive after the operation for at least six weeks, and this means that he will not be on site to oversee the regular operations of the college.  He will be taking care of various tasks as he is able during this recovery period, but day-to-day activities within the college will be overseen by the various Associate and Assistant Deans.

As a reminder, please route inquiries according to the following:

*Research, Outreach or NTTF-Related: Ed Kame'enui, Associate Dean for Research and Outreach
*Academic and Tenure-Related: Ron Beghetto, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs
*Fiscal, Budgetary or Operations-Related: Elaine Jones, Assistant Dean for Finance and Operations
*Student Support or Licensure/Testing-Related: Angie Whalen, Assistant Dean for Academic Programs and Student Services
*Questions on Routing of Requests or Emergencies: Shaun Haskins, Exec. Assistant to the Dean

Currently, Mike is resting comfortably with his family while awaiting the upcoming procedure, and thanks you all for your concern.  Any cards or letters of support can be delivered to my attention at the Office of the Dean.  More information will be provided as necessary as it becomes available over the coming days.

Our thoughts go out to Dean Bullis with hopes for a swift recovery.
