coe-staff: COE Adoption of Tk20 System

Members of the College of Education Community:
I am writing to confirm that the COE has purchased Tk20, a data management system that will have advantages for faculty and staff as well as for our students in managing their student experiences and professional credentials. This decision was reached after a great deal of deliberation across the college and with all COE educator licensure programs; there seems little question that Tk20 is the best system to meet our collective needs.
Tk20 is a comprehensive system that provides a rich set of assessment data management tools to help track and enhance our students' growth, as well as make our assessment and accountability tasks easier. Students will subscribe to Tk20 and use it to submit assignments associated with key assessments. Our students will continue to have access to Tk20 after their graduation to build their professional portfolios and support career advancement.

We will begin to adopt the Tk20 system during winter Term 2013 in all Master's degree and TSPC licensure programs. Full implementation for Master's and TSPC licensure programs will begin as new cohorts of students enter programs during summer or fall Terms in the 2013 -14 academic year. Trained faculty and staff will enter key assessment data and evaluations.

In following years, the COE's undergraduate and doctoral programs will implement Tk20 planning and management tools for program-level assessment and data management.
