Don't forget to shut down your personal computers, turn off printers and any other electronic items that might be hurt by the next 3 nights of power testing.
Also, I am shutting down COE servers tonight (coeshare, coeprint are the most commonly used) and will be starting them up again at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings.
Please report issues with a good description to coe-support at ithelp.uoregon.edu<mailto:coe-support at ithelp.uoregon.edu> or if your computer is down you can leave a message on my phone at 346-2328. I will not be answering phone calls until I get the servers back up and running.
This power outage impacts most buildings on campus. Below is the latest message that was sent out by Office of Communications, it does contain a couple of contacts for more information.

Subject: Power testing to occur Aug. 28 to Aug. 31
The University of Oregon will experience campus-wide intermittent power outages, lasting from several seconds to several minutes, from Tuesday, Aug. 28 through Thursday, Aug. 30, from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. each day. Testing will conclude by 7 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31. UO faculty and staff are asked to please turn off all electronic equipment, including computers and printers, before leaving campus each night during the testing.
The purpose of the outages is to connect the new co-generation system to the utility grid, and to verify proper operation and coordination of all equipment. In order to ensure that all systems perform as anticipated, it is vital to test every aspect of the system as new equipment is installed and software programs are updated.
The electrical shutdown will affect all campus facilities except those that receive their power directly from the Eugene Water and Electric Board (see list here<http://emc.uoregon.edu/PowerInfo>).
The outages are expected to impact various systems across campus. Egress lighting will experience intermittent outages. Elevators will be out of operation beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday and will resume service between 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. each day. Telephones that have data capabilities will be affected, but should be working once testing is completed. Testing has been scheduled to take place from late evening to early morning for minimal impact although we realize any shutdown will impact campus.
For questions, please contact Campus Operations at electric at uoregon.edu<mailto:electric at uoregon.edu>, or call the Campus Operations help desk at 346-2319. For more information, visit alerts.uoregon.edu<http://alerts.uoregon.edu/>.
