Please forward this email to your faculty. The email below was sent this afternoon to all international graduate students.

This is a follow-up to what I shared with you previously at a college leadership meeting. We were able to reduce financial barriers to international students' off-campus employment by creating a one-credit, no-tuition course required for off-campus employment.

Dear International Graduate Students:

You have two options for working off-campus: the Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and Optional Practical Training (OPT).

As you explore these off-campus employment options, please note the following resources and new, no-tuition CPT course that reduces financial barriers to completing a CPT experience.


  *   International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) oversees CPT and OPT off-campus employment applications and approvals. Visit the ISSS website<https://isss.uoregon.edu/f-1-employment-options> to learn more about CPT and OPT eligibility, required paperwork, and approval deadlines.


  *   The Division of Graduate Studies<https://graduatestudies.uoregon.edu/professional-development> supports you with preparing to compete for off-campus employment positions. Sign up for the free resume, CV, and cover letter review services and workshops on networking.


  *   If you secure off-campus employment, you are required to register for 1 course credit. Sign up for the 1 credit, no-tuition GRST 604: CPT Internship course. You must be approved first by ISSS to complete CPT. You will not be charged tuition.
