Summary:
The COE Peer Review of Teaching policy is a new policy in the College of Education. The policy was developed from and Office of the Provost template and is designed to align with the University of Oregon's Teaching Evaluation Standards: i.e., that Teaching at the University of Oregon is Professional, Inclusive, Engaged, and Research Informed. The Peer Review of Teaching policy introduces a systematic framework through which faculty may coordinate and follow a set of clear expectations to provide teaching feedback to their faculty peers in support of their teaching excellence. The policy covers areas such as:
1. Who should receive peer reviews of teaching
2. The criteria for peer reviews of teaching
3. How the review process should proceed in the College of Education
4. Who is eligible to be called into service to be a peer reviewer of teaching
5. The role of the reviewee
6. As well as some of the administrative details associated with engaging in and managing a review at the College level
Please use the Peer Review of Teaching Policy survey<https://oregon.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bOT3Gv9rsLji4JM> to review and submit any comments related to the updated policy (attached). As indicated above, notes submitted via this survey will be compiled and reviewed by the committee and adjustments made (as appropriate) to the policy prior to submitting it for faculty vote. Any adjustments made to the policy as a result of the comment period will be summarized prior to the vote. Please submit all feedback via this survey by Friday April 26th.
The dean's office has had and will continue to have iterative opportunities to review the draft and will be offered a full review opportunity after the comments have been incorporated. Any changes made based on dean's office review and OtP review will be summarized prior to faculty vote.
The survey<https://oregon.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bOT3Gv9rsLji4JM> allows for the comment of individual sections of the policy and / or for an overall comment.
Warmest regards,
Angie
