Dear COE faculty and instructors,
Welcome back!
My first wish for all of you is that you found some time to refresh this summer. Every one of us needs to recharge to meet the incredible demands we will face this fall on many fronts. As we enter this term during such uncertain, painful, and complex times I am here to support the college in delivering high quality instruction whether remotely or in person. We know the world has become unpredictable and each day seems to present new challenges. Know that we are here to support you in the Dean's office. Please reach out to me with questions or concerns and I will do my best to problem solve!

In this email you will find a compilation of supports provided for designing and delivering your courses this fall.

 COE remote course delivery trainings

I encourage all of you to participate in this training opportunity to enhance our skills in the delivery of high quality and effective on-line instruction.

Academic Council Fall Instruction Expectations
Attached to this email you will find the fall 2020 teaching expectations provided by the University of Oregon academic council. These expectations are grounded in the principle that academic credit and grades are based on student performance toward meeting course learning objectives. I encourage all of you to take the time to read these over so that you are familiar with expectations regarding attendance, grading, and other issues as they may arise that are related to COVID and the remote delivery of courses.

Updated Fall 2020 Syllabus Template
Based on the expectations provided by the academic council I have developed statements to be included in the College of Education syllabus template. Attached you will find the updated 2020-2021 template and this will also be posted on the COE governance site https://coedocs.uoregon.edu/display/governance/Curriculum+Resources. Any text in red should be modified based on the actual circumstances of your course. So please attend to these areas in the syllabus and revise the text as appropriate before publishing your syllabus.

Thanks for all that you do and all that you will do. Please contact me with suggestions of other resources we might offer or with any questions you may have.
