It’s my absolute pleasure to share with you the CFP for the Digital Scholarship Center Faculty Grant Program and to ask for your help in sharing widely:
CFP: Digital Scholarship Center Faculty Grant Program<https://dsc.uoregon.edu/funding/faculty-grants>
The University of Oregon Libraries’ Digital Scholarship Center (DSC) has begun a new internal-UO grant program for faculty (individuals and small groups) interested in developing digital projects for research and teaching. This year, the Libraries will accept proposals until April 30, 2018, end of day. The Libraries will work with grant award winners to implement the selected digital projects sometime during the 2018-2019 academic year or earlier, depending upon the faculty members’ availability. As needed, grantees will receive DSC design services, project management support, digital collection development, technology support, metadata consultation, and more from the Libraries. Collaborative projects that combine internal and external funding and other special programs are welcome.
Criteria for selection of projects and other guidelines are listed here: http://bit.ly/dscgrantfaq, but we particularly welcome projects that leverage UO Libraries’ physical and digital resources and collections, and that address issues related to diversity, inclusion, and equity. Examples of proposals within the scope of the grants program include:
* Projects exploring open models for scholarly publishing, including journals, interactive reading experiences, digital storytelling, and TEI-encoded editions
* Digital exhibits featuring collections that are already held by the University of Oregon, which are instrumental in supporting learning, teaching, and research at University of Oregon. (Final selection of materials will be subject to ability to clear copyright, if required.)
* Projects exploring how data from a variety of disciplines can be visualized and mined to answer research questions
To complete a detailed grant proposal, please use this form: https://oregon.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3JfzdLBAX02dpAh. You may download a copy of this form here: http://bit.ly/dldscproposal
No previous experience with digital tools or platforms is needed. If you are unsure about some of the questions or fields in the proposal form, please send us an email at dsc at uoregon.edu<mailto:dsc at uoregon.edu> and the Libraries’ digital scholarship team will consult with you about your project idea and the proposal process. Please write to us or visit our website<https://dsc.uoregon.edu/funding/faculty-grants> for more information about our services.
