coe-fac: COE Internal Governance Policies - Feedback Requested (From Dean Tuan)

Dear COE Colleagues,

The University is currently working to ensure that all the provisions of the new faculty collective bargaining agreement (CBA) are effectively implemented.  One key part of this effort involves making internal governance policies transparent, accessible and consistent.

The COE Dean's Office and department heads have been gathering existing policies, soliciting input on common practices across the college, and synthesizing the information into a framework to guide our policy development. The framework document is attached for your review and feedback. We hope that your input will help to make it the strongest and most effective statement of our principles and policies. There are two venues for providing feedback:

  *   Department and unit level meetings: department and unit directors will be in touch soon with information on when and where these meetings will take place.
  *   A link<https://oregon.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_6JoXI18xEIs38GN> has been created in the event you prefer to provide direct feedback to the Dean's Office.

In order to have enough time to synthesize and incorporate your comments before we submit the document to the Provost for final approval, please provide your feedback by 5pm on February 28th. Upon approval, the Dean's Office will post the document on the COE website under a new "Governance" section, which will go live later this term.
