coe-fac: Open Access Education

A reminder:  David Wiley<http://davidwiley.org/>, nationally recognized scholar, teacher, and expert on open education, will speak on "Open Education, Open Access, and the Challenges to Higher Ed" today at 4:00 p.m. in Browsing Room of Knight Library. The lecture is co-sponsored by the COE.

In his talk Wiley will discuss how traditional degree-granting institutions might respond to technological, social, and political trends that have created new market forces, putting them in steep competition with a new wave of edupreneurs, for-profit education initiatives such as Udacity<http://www.udacity.com>, and open education prototypes such as MITx<http://mitx.mit.edu/>.
