Subject: UTD/Callier Center Faculty Recruitments in Speech, Language, and Hearing
We would appreciate your help distributing a new position announcement to students in your program who will be graduating this spring, and any other colleagues who may be interested in three new open-rank positions at the Callier Center/University of Texas at Dallas (UTD). In addition to basic and applied research programs in hearing, speech and language, and neurophysiological (including motor speech) domains, the Callier Center for Communication Disorders houses strong clinical programs in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, and patient care facilities.
The Callier Center facilities are spread across two campuses, in the Dallas Medical District (adjacent to the UT Southwestern Medical Center), and on the main UT Dallas campus in Richardson (adjacent to Psychology and Neurobiology). The Callier Center contains state-of-the-art translational research facilities and an extraordinary network of interdisciplinary collaborations and resources. Excellent magnetic resonance imaging facilities are available at an inter-institutional imaging center adjacent to the Callier Center in the Medical District.
Applicants from all areas of speech, language, and hearing sciences will be considered. Priority will be given to candidates with a research focus in the following areas: (1) age-related changes in hearing; (2) language disorders, emphasizing learning and remediation; and (3) speech motor function and/or computational neuroscience, particularly technology-intensive investigation.
For those who are not familiar with UTD, we are a Tier One Institution and the fastest growing university in Texas. The University offers competitive salaries and generous start-up packages.
Our School, Behavioral and Brain Sciences (BBS), houses a dynamic and collaborative research community in speech, language, hearing, psychology, and neurobiology. BBS Faculty are active participants in a number of school-related research centers, including the Callier Center for Communication Disorders (the home of the Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences faculty) as well as the Center for Vital Longevity, the Center for BrainHealth, the Texas Biomedical Device Center, the Center for Children and Families, and the Center for Advanced Pain Studies. The Dallas-Fort Worth area is an international hub with a strong economy, vibrant cultural atmosphere, world-class sports and entertainment, and nationally ranked public schools.
Applicants should hold a PhD in a relevant field (e.g., Communication Sciences and Disorders; Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences; Computer Science; Engineering; Neuroscience; and/or Psychology) and show evidence of a dynamic and productive research program with clear record of or potential for funding.
Applicants should submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae, a statement of current and future research, a statement of teaching philosophy and experience, teaching evaluations, and the full contact information for at least three professional references via the online application form at http://jobs.utdallas.edu/postings/13167<https://urldefense.com/v3/__http:/jobs.utdallas.edu/postings/13167__;!5W9E9PnL_ac!ScTX6sUTEDNCiy__GQuaaDebQ03DGhQXAyaeUmoHsH4ZyWMCe5SDcAnIxpgJiQ$>.
