Allure of Painted Poetry:  Comparing Asian Screens

An historical perspective of how screens in China, Korea and Japan were developed, designed and used to create intimate spaces while adding beauty to a room and to serve as backdrops for ceremonies and performances. This event complements the re-installation of a recently conserved Korean screen in the Portland Art Museum.
