[Andalusi Studies] II Aljamiado Reading Course - Warburg Institute (London)

*New Aljamiado Reading Course at the Warburg Institute. *
We will be meeting on Mondays from 4.15 to 7.10 pm, from 13 October until 3
November 2014, at the Warburg Institute in the Room 1. Participation is
free.

Within its historical and cultural context, we will learn to read the
Aljamiado texts, which are manuscripts copied by the Moriscos in the
16th-17th century and written in Spanish in Arabic script. To better
understand these texts, we will look at some aspects of codicology.

A basic reading knowledge of Spanish is required, as well as a basic
knowledge of Arabic. ​
