travelnews: Concur Tip: Personal Vehicle Mileage Reimbursement

[BAO news for travel administrators]

To UO Travelers and their Concur Delegates:

UO travel policy allows for mileage reimbursement to be claimed from home or work, whichever is closer.  While UO employees may be working remotely due to COVID-19, the IRS determination of "official workstation" has not changed.  Home to work mileage is considered commuting and is neither an option for reimbursement, nor is tax deductible.

IRS Mileage reimbursement for 2021 is 56 cents per mile.

Please be sure to use the Mileage Calculator in your Concur Expense report for accuracy and to save time.  Select Personal Car Mileage from the New Expenses list.   Add the date of the mileage claim and click on Mileage Calculator (powered by Google Maps).

When the map appears type in the starting and ending address or destination.  The more you use the mileage tool, the more often it will intuitively autofill your locations (ex: PDX for Portland Airport or White Stag).  Click "Calculate Route", "Make Roundtrip" and "Add Mileage to Expense".
