travelnews: Guests traveling to UO from foreign countries

[BAO news for travel administrators]

To UO Travel Coordinators:

Please share this information with everyone in your department who may invite someone from a foreign country to visit the UO.  Your invited guests may need to allow extra time to obtain an E-passport or visa.

USA Visa Waiver program update
Effective from 01 April 2016, all persons travelling to the USA on the Visa Waiver Program require an E-Passport.

For all up-to-date information we recommend that you check http://www.dhs.gov/visa-waiver-program-requirements

An E-Passport, denoted by the symbol located on the passport cover, is an enhanced secure passport.

Any passenger who doesn't have an E-Passport after the 1st April 2016 will not be permitted travel under the Visa Waiver Program and will require a visa.
