travelnews: Important information about Student Travel and the CLERY Act

[BAO news for travel administrators]

Dear UO Travel Coordinator,

Please review this important information if if you plan or coordinate school sponsored away trips for UO students.

The attached presentation contains important information that will enable the university, with your assistance, to comply with the Clery Act.

The Clery Act is a federal law that requires schools to track and report information about crimes that occur at certain types of locations, including away trips.  The UO Clery Coordinator, who works at UOPD, is responsible for collecting and reporting crime statistics to the Department of Education and in the UO annual security report.

Please review the attached PowerPoint presentation for UO Travel Coordinators, which provides information about complying with this federal law.
