Delta and American Will Discontinue Interline Ticketing Agreement

Effective September 15, 2015, Delta Air Lines and American Airlines (including U.S. Airways) will no longer have an interline ticketing and baggage agreement.

The cancellation of the interline agreement means that travel booked on and after September 15 can no longer include flight segments operated by both Delta and American on the same ticket. Instead, separate tickets will need to be issued for each carrier.

Additionally, baggage transfers will no longer be offered between the two carriers.

All reservations made with tickets issued prior to September 15, 2015, will be honored as issued. Additionally, the agreement to transfer baggage between Delta and American Airlines (including U.S. Airways) will be honored for tickets issued prior to September 15, 2015.
