travelnews: TRAVEL TIP: Booking Hertz rental cars online using the State of Oregon contract

Good Afternoon -

Booking Hertz rental cars using the state of Oregon contract is easy to do online.  Be sure to follow these tips to guarantee that the LDW (Liability Damage Waiver)insurance provided by the state of Oregon  contract is included:


*         Go to Hertz.com and select the parameters for your rental including location, dates, and car type.

*         Be sure to check the box "Enter a Discount or Promo code and enter the State of Oregon code:  1485589.

*         Check the two boxes beneath for Corporate/Government Rentals Only.  Failure to check these boxes may result higher rates and lack of insurance coverage.

Reminders:


*         To claim a reimbursement there must be a valid business purpose for the vehicle rental.

*         Use the contract when you are traveling for UO official business only and have only UO employees in the car with you.

*         Do not use the contract when your rental involves personal time or you have family members or friends traveling with you

*         The State of Oregon contract allows for an upgrade from a compact car to a midsize car.

Call the travel office in advance if you have any special or unusual travel circumstances.  We can help you determine if your rental is in compliance with travel policy and the correct documentation.
