Boston On Lockdown Due To Police Activity

Much of the city of Boston is inaccessible today as a result of police activity related to this week's Boston Marathon bombing.  Many areas are closed to the public and reports indicate taxi service across the city has been suspended.  Public and other transportation delays should be expected.  Travelers are advised to monitor local media and stay abreast of quickly changing conditions.

Lufthansa Strike Scheduled Monday

Employees at Lufthansa, Germany's largest airline, are expected to go on strike Monday, April 22nd resulting in numerous delays and cancellations.  It is anticipated the work stoppage will affect Lufthansa flights on Monday and possibly into Tuesday as well.  Peak Travel will identify those travelers booked on Lufthansa flights Monday and Tuesday and contact for possible re-accommodation.  Travelers are advised to check flight status prior to departing for the airport.
