Plan policy because of the new guidelines. Most Senators did appreciate the work and clarity that the guidelines provide. They appreciate the faculty's control over the plan, protection for IOR’s, and the modality and flexibility of the plan.</span><span style="color:rgb(33,33,33)"></span></div>

to weather a strike. The President's ability to call an emergency relates to this sticking point and was mentioned several times. There were questions and negative comments about replacing teaching GE’s with instructors of record. This would create tension
and further demonstrate the lack of pay for instructors – if they are willing to be replacement GE’s. There was also a mention of the pressure junior faculty might feel during the strike.</span><span style="color:rgb(33,33,33)"></span></div>

how do the principles balance out the emergency grades? There seems to be a lack of understanding about emergency grades. I think it may be useful for the Academic Council to clarify what those grades specifically mean and the process and timeline that the
Academic Council uses to implement those grades. </span></div>
