[Uosenateexec] Annual Senate Shared Governance Award process - Spring 2021

Dear Senate Exec Members,

Each year the UO Senate gives our 4 awards to celebrate the achievements and contributions of some of our colleagues on campus. The Senate Exec Committee is responsible for reviewing and selecting a recipient for the UO Senate Shared Governance, Transparency & Trust Award.

I have created a One Drive folder with the nomination materials and will be sharing a link with you shortly. Please review these materials in advance of the May 12, 2021 Senate Exec meeting. Towards the end of the meeting we will go into "Executive Session" which will close it to non-committee members so the group can discuss the nominees and make their selection. Ultimately, all four Senate awards will come to the May 19, 2021 Senate mtg for an endorsement vote, again in an "Executive Session" period. The awards will be presented to the recipients at the June 2, 2021 Senate meeting. While normally we would follow the final senate meeting with a catered reception, we are unable to do so under the current COVID-19 restrictions.

NOTE: Sandy Weintraub and myself are Ex Officio, Non-Voting members of the group and as such will not participate in the deliberations. I will be there simply to record the decision and follow-up with getting the award ordered and delivered.
