We will be discussing and voting on a couple of policies in Senate meetings this term. The sponsors of these policies are now soliciting input before they finalize the language and would like your input at this stage.<br>

The first policy comes to us from the <a href="https://openaccess.uoregon.edu/" target="_blank">Senate Subcommittee on Open Access</a>, which has drafted the attached Open Access Scholarship Policy. Both the resolution for the Senate vote and the policy itself are in the attached PDF, DraftOAPolicyResolution.pdf. This group drafted the policy in response to <a href="https://senate.uoregon.edu/senate-motions/us1920-16-resolution-develop-open-access-scholarship-policy" target="_blank">US19/20-16</a>, “Resolution to Develop an Open Access Scholarship Policy”. You can read more about the policy, the committee that created it, and provide feedback on the draft policy on their site at: <a href="https://openaccess.uoregon.edu/" target="_blank">https://openaccess.uoregon.edu/</a>.<br>

The second policy comes from an ad hoc committee that VPRI Moseley and I stood up to develop a policy governing our Human Subjects Protection Program. We assembled this group to revise the Human Subjects Research policy ahead of pending federal changes that will require us to have a policy governing the Human Subject Protection Program. The committee consisted of three faculty senators and three non-senate faculty who conduct human subjects research plus administrative support from Research Compliance Services and the General Counsel. Please send any comments or feedback to me and VPRI Moseley. <br>
