I want to make sure that you’re aware that the selection process for the Faculty spot on the Board of Trustees is underway. Eligible faculty members can apply for the position <a href="https://www.oregon.gov/gov/admin/Pages/How_To_Apply.aspx" target="_blank">here</a> by mid-March, and all who apply are eligible to be included in the Senate’s endorsement process, described <a href="https://senate.uoregon.edu/faculty-board-member-endorsement-process" target="_blank">here</a>. You can read more about the position and the appointment process in <a href="https://around.uoregon.edu/content/campus-positions-uo-board-trustees-appointment" target="_blank">this</a> ATO article.<br>

We are inviting applicants to address the Senate in our March 10 meeting, after which we will conduct a straw poll to rank order the candidates. The Senate’s Executive Committee will draft a letter of endorsement based on the results of the poll, then the full Senate will vote on the letter in our April 7 meeting.<br>

Please encourage faculty who you think would be strong candidates to apply and consider applying yourselves. It would be great to have someone with current or recent Senate involvement on the board. </div>
