educate ourselves on systemic racism. This gives those who do not have a meeting like Ed is organizing for Earth Sciences to go to, or who are not able (for whatever reason) to join protests, something visible and concrete to do besides boycott the Senate.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

system, and define a detailed plan of action for them to carry forward. I will not attend the UO Senate meeting on Wednesday out of respect for this call and the national moment we are in. I will be working with the Department of Earth Sciences to hold a departmental
forum for discussing these issues and coming up with a departmental plan of action for improving representation and inclusion in our field. I suggest that the rest of you should think about holding similar meetings with your units to define a path of action.<o:p></o:p></p>
