<p class="MsoNormal">If you haven’t seen it yet, there has been a call to take Wednesday, June 10, as a day for White and non-Black People of Color in the academy to educate themselves on institutional racism in the USA, reflect on their position in this system,
and define a detailed plan of action for them to carry forward. I will not attend the UO Senate meeting on Wednesday out of respect for this call and the national moment we are in. I will be working with the Department of Earth Sciences to hold a departmental
forum for discussing these issues and coming up with a departmental plan of action for improving representation and inclusion in our field. I suggest that the rest of you should think about holding similar meetings with your units to define a path of action.<o:p></o:p></p>
