Dear Senators,
I'm sending a reminder about the upcoming Senate Teach-In: Oregon Sanctuary Laws - History, Campus Policies, and Your Rights and asking for your help in sharing the event with your colleagues.
DATE: Wednesday, March 5th
LOCATION: Crater Lake Room South, EMU
TEAMS LIVESTREAM: https://senate.uoregon.edu/ (The meeting will not be recorded.)
This event will provide information on the history and legal foundations of Oregon's sanctuary laws, how they intersect with federal law, and what this means for our campus. Experts in law, policy, and university governance will offer practical guidance on rights, resources, and advocacy. Presenters include Lynn Stephen (Knight Chair, Distinguished Professor of Arts and Sciences, Professor, Anthropology), Kristin Yarris (Associate Professor, Global Studies and Women's, Gender & Sexuality Studies), Jason Wade (UOPD Police Chief), and Jessica Price (Special Counsel for Research, Ethics & International Affairs).
Please consider attending and encourage others to join. You can help by forwarding this invite to your departments, colleagues, and any relevant communication channels.
Thank you for your support, and I look forward to seeing many of you there!
Sincerely,
Alison
