Hello Senators,
I should have given you an update earlier, but I was exhausted after the intense negotiations between the student protestors and administrators over the UO-Gaza encampment.
The Senate played a key facilitation role in the negotiations. This OPB article nicely summarizes our Senate’s role in the matter:

My goal was to resolve the conflict peacefully, which kept me motivated - especially when negotiations almost broke down a few times. As the Senate helped to resolve the conflict peacefully, we demonstrated the power of shared governance. The Senate's facilitation role in future campus conflicts could be an excellent model for development.
Here is the UO-Gaza Encampment Agreement facilitated by the UO Senate:

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated in this process. Your dedication and hard work made this peaceful resolution possible.
I’ll see everyone in person at our last Senate meeting next week.
All the best,
Gerard.
