Dear fellow senators,
I hope this message finds you well. I haven’t been participating actively in the discussions because I am on sabbatical this term. Today, I am writing to you as a member of the Division of Global Engagement faculty group for organizing educational events in response to the current crisis on Israel-Palestine and to invite you to the following two events. While the first one is a more of a student-facing event, the second one is geared towards educating the educators.

Event Details:
* Date: Wednesday, May 22, 2024
* Time: 5:00- 6:30 p.m.
* Location: Gerlinger Lounge
* Audience: While the event is open to all UO community, the primary intended audience is students: given limited seating capacity, please encourage them to attend and arrive early!
2) Workshop for Educators: Understanding and Addressing Antisemitism and Islamophobia, with Hussein Ibish and David Schraub in collaboration with the Division of Global Engagement<https://international.uoregon.edu/> and the Teaching Engagement Program<https://teaching.uoregon.edu/>.

You can see all the event details on this link<https://international.uoregon.edu/educational-responses> including some background information about this group’s work and the shared principles we drafted in fall. Please consider sharing this information with your constituents. If your department is willing to co-sponsor the event, please ask your department head to let me know by Friday (May 10) so we can link your website to our event (we do not need financial support but we will welcome it if your department would like to make a contribution). Note that you can scroll down the website to see the current list of our co-sponsors.
All the best,
Harinder
