Hi Nicole, looking through the Community Standards Affirmation policy, I see language like this:


Members of the University of Oregon community are expected to:

Respect the rights, dignity, essential worth, and well-being of all individuals.
Practice personal and academic integrity and expect it from others.
Value the passions, aspirations, individuality, and success of students, faculty, and staff.
Promote academic freedom, creative expression, and intellectual discourse.
Foster equity and inclusion in pursuit of a welcoming, safe, and respectful community.
Respect the privacy, property, and freedom of others.
Reject bigotry, discrimination, violence, or intimidation of any kind.
Comply with all applicable student or workplace expectations, including those contained
in the Student Conduct Code, University and unit-level policies, relevant collective bargaining agreements, and the annual respectful workplace notice.

I’m wondering what process will be used to decide whether a faculty member has violated this policy, and what potential penalties might be associated with different levels of violations.

The task force working on the Community Standards Affirmation and Equal Opportunity policies is still looking for senator feedback. The final extended deadline for any responses (to be sent to Nicole Commissiong in the Title IX Office, nrc at uoregon.edu<mailto:nrc at uoregon.edu>) is close of business on Friday, February 25, 2022.

The task force is eager to hear your opinions on these very important policies which have broad impact on our campus. After Friday’s deadline, any feedback will be reviewed and incorporated into the draft proposals before they head to the Policy Advisory Council’s March 15th mtg. This is the time to let your voices be heard!
