Hi all,

Please consider supporting Gaby, if you can. Read the email below:)

Hey Karla,

>From March 25th- April 1st, I will be attending an Alternative Break trip to Antigua, Guatemala through the University of Oregon's Holden Center for Leadership and Community Engagement to work making Ecocina stoves through Stove Team for the nearby community. Just $50 will pay for the work it takes to make one stove for a family to transition to a healthier lifestyle. Your contribution can make a difference.

In many low income communities around the world there is a silent killer. Traditional open fire wood stoves used in daily cooking kill thousands each year and deteriorate the health of many families, especially children. "Smoke from open cooking fires kills more than eight times as many people as malaria. Daily cooking is the equivalent to mothers and children smoking three packs of cigarettes a day" (stoveteam.org<http://stoveteam.org/>). There is a solution developed by Stove Team International called the Ecocina that helps reduce toxic emissions by 70% while being local and sustainable materials.

My goal is to fundraise $600 that will help pay for a fee that covers the cost of my flight, housing for the week, all meals, and pays for the cost of one stove which will be donated to a Guatemalan community member in Antigua. You can help create healthier communities in Guatemala by donating $50 or whatever you are willing to contribute to this trip today.

Thus far, I have worked extra hours and saved up to pay for this trip, a total of $834 of my personal funds, which has caused a lot of extra stress to my life. Your contribution is invaluable to helping make this trip a reality for me. I am still $350 away from my goal! If you are able to contribute, please know that anything helps and I am very grateful for your generosity and support! Please make your donation by following this GoFundme link<https://www.gofundme.com/help-gaby-get-to-guatemala>.

Thank you in advance for your time and contribution.

Sincerely,

Gaby

P.S. Feel free to share. Thank you!
