Dear colleagues –

This year’s Latino Heritage Month Celebration Signature Event: 2016 Fiesta Latina will host awards for Latino faculty, staff and students who exemplify the UO’s goals of excellence, access, and research. The event will take place on October 10 at 5-8pm in the School of Music, Room 190.

We are recognizing these outstanding UO members to recognize their good work and to promote a welcoming and inclusive campus community for all. Through their diverse work, accomplishments, and journeys, we ask you to consider nominating individuals who you feel we should be honored for their efforts to embody UO’s academic mission.

Here are the award categories. The award recipients should embody the UO’s goals of excellence, access, and/or research. Please send a few sentences as to why you nominate each candidate:

1.       Staff Member (any Latino OA and classified member)

2.       Faculty Member (any Latino Faculty or instructor)

3.       Students (any Latino undergraduate/graduate students and/or alumni)
