Would you like to attend a free dinner and talk at UO with disability justice advocate and journalist Imani Barbarin? The BE Series has asked Disability Studies if we would like to host a table for 8-10 people at the event, which takes place on Tuesday, February 28 at EMU Ballroom at 5:30. On Tuesday, February 28th, the BEseries<https://www.instagram.com/uo_beseries/> team is hosting Imani Barbarin on our campus (please see attached digital display). Imani Barbarin is a disability rights and inclusion activist and speaker who uses her voice and social media platforms to create conversations engaging the disability community. Born with cerebral palsy, Imani often writes and uses her platform to speak from the perspective of a disabled black woman. She holds a Masters in Global Communications from the American University of Paris, her published works include those in Forbes, Rewire, Healthline, BitchMedia and more. She runs the blog CrutchesAndSpice.com<http://crutchesandspice.com/> and a podcast of the same name.



The BEseries<https://www.instagram.com/uo_beseries/> is a student event planning team that hosts speakers who help fill the gap in the lack of staff, faculty, and advisors of underrepresented identities on our campus. *All costs associated with Imani's visit to campus are fully covered by the BEseries but we always welcome co-sponsors when our partners are able.
