Subject: DanceAbility Teacher Training this summer 2019
Hello faculty and staff of the UO Dance department and Disabilities Studies departments,
I'm writing you all to share an exciting short-term training program happening this summer that may interest students in your programs (or you!). The DanceAbility Teacher Certification course is a 4-week intensive class designed to teach participants how to facilitate inclusive movement experiences for all people, in any combination of people. Many of our past participants have found that learning the award-winning DanceAbility method is a wonderful way to take your teaching to the next level, and many have gone on to develop thriving arts careers with DanceAbility in their communities: our network of active teachers stretches across 45 countries currently and they practice the method in dance studios, classrooms, facilities and community organizations worldwide. It really is a lovely complementary addition to pedagogy, education, and dance studies.
I am including a flyer for the course in this email as well as links below for more information. Please pass this message on to friends, family, students, and colleagues that may be interested, and feel free to pass along this email address to any individuals wanting more information. I am happy to help.
Hope you're all staying warm,
Jana M
Programs Director / Master Teacher
DanceAbility International<http://www.danceability.com/> is hosting a Teacher Certification<https://www.danceability.com/teacher-certification> in Eugene, Oregon from August 26th to September 20th, 2019 in Eugene, Oregon, USA.
DanceAbility teacher trainings are for people who want to teach integrated groups in movement arts or learn a model for facilitating communities that foster inclusive participation. The well-defined method and techniques include flexible approaches to designing creative movement practices that allow anybody and everybody's movement to emerge, thereby facilitating individual and group expression. The course will happen this summer 2019, and will be taught by founder/director Alito Alessi here in Eugene, where DanceAbility was founded over 30 years ago. Registration is open now.
Don't miss out! These only happen every few years in the United States, and there is a maximum capacity for this course.
