This summer, Mobility International USA (MIUSA) will host orientation workshops in Eugene for high-school and college exchange students with disabilities participating in prestigious U.S. Department of State sponsored programs. The students come from 20 different countries across Asia, Europe, and Africa, and will attend high school and college in communities throughout the U.S.
MIUSA is recruiting high school and college students with _any_ disability to meet these incredible exchange students! Over a relaxed catered dinner, mentors will have the opportunity to learn what life is like for youths with disabilities across the world, while sharing first-hand knowledge and experiences to help prepare the students for life in the U.S.
Previous exchange students have described their peer mentor encounters as great preparation for their school year:
“The MIUSA workshop made me aware of how the lives of students with disabilities are in the US and I feel super prepared for this beautiful year!”
“I feel more motivated and confident to be independent. [After meeting the peer mentor, I] know more about people with disabilities in America.”
