Hi! My name is Adrion T. Kelley and I am president of University of
Oregon Art & Technology. The UOAT has been hard at work creating niche
opportunities for Art majors who utilize their unique creative skills to
assist fellow students, faculty and community professionals with media
development, market analysis, scientific/data visualization and
programming/hardware design. The new agenda for UOAT is as follows:
1. Proffering of Universal Accessibility Agenda
UOAT has been working closely with Sara Zolbrod from DanceAbility
International on introducing an interactive media element within
alternative dance therapy for differently abled persons. DanceAbility
maintains an active presence on the UO campus through the UO School of
Music and Dance.
For more info contact Sara sara at danceability.com
UOAT has also recently become aware of the new Disability Studies minor
offered here at the UO. UO Associate Professor, Elizabeth Wheeler, lent
a tremendous effort in the establishment of this new minor at the U of
O. Professor Wheeler also works with the UO Department of Theatre Arts
in maintaining theatre classes for the differently abled.
For more info contact Professor Wheeler ewheeler at uoregon.edu
UO Department of Architecture Associate Professor, Kyuho Ahn, also
assists in the maintenance of the differently abled theatre classes by
designing stage sets for performances. On occasion Professor Ahn advises
the UOAT in matters of interactive interior design as it pertains to
Universal Accessibility.
To find out more about human behavior within a built environment contact
Professor Ahn kahn at uoregon.edu
UOAT has also made contact with Mike Shugrue from Full Access in Eugene.
Mike offers screenwriting and videography classes for the differently
abled. Each year films created by differently abled individuals are
featured at the SPROUT film festival https://vimeo.com/122650454
For more info contact Mike Shugrue MShugrue at fullaccess.org
UOAT would also like to thank Rebeca Torres for being such an
inspirational artist and recognizes her as a game changer within the
world of marketing and promotion. UOAT students are currently employing
her aesthetic algorithms, with terrific results.

UOAT would also like to thank Heidi Von Ravensberg from the UODSP for
all of her wonderful updates regarding all Universal Accessibility
events and announcements.

2. Architectural Environment Controls
As of late UOAT has lent a technical helping hand to the development of
wireless environmental control systems in a joint academic endeavor
betwixt the U of O's Energy Studies in Building's (ESBL) lab and the OSU
to study human comfort within interior spaces. Associate Professor and
Director of the ESBL lab, Kevin Van Den Wymelenberg, and Graduate
Research Fellow, Andrew Loia, are open to exploring new and innovative
software and hardware designs to assist in the discovery of optimal
human comfort and efficiency levels within interior spaces.

3. Renewing Academic Interest in Analog Electronics
The UOAT has become made aware of the Technical Science Administration's
(TSA) unique class entitled "Analog Electronics". This is a very special
class open only to graduate students that teaches the finer points of
electronics through analog immersion. TSA Director, John Boosinger, and
TSA Electronics Engineer, Cliff Dax, are looking to expand their class
so that anyone could enroll and benefit from the decades of advanced
technical knowledge both Cliff and John have to offer the academic
community. Cliff and John are looking for a UO academic department to
help sponsor their efforts at program expansion, in return that certain
department will be enriched with decades of rare electrical engineering
expertise.
For more info contact John boos at uoregon.edu
or
Cliff cdax at uoregon.edu
4. Interactive Presentations
UOAT has been developing the next generation of presentation technology
by researching and developing a suite of data/scientific visualization
smart phone apps to be used in tandem through wifi with a projector to
create a simple and friendly interactive presentation space. UOAT would
like to thank the Energy Studies in Buildings (ESBL) lab and the
International Interior Design Association (IIDA) for their valuable
analytic feedback pertaining to UOAT's interactive wireless presentation
prospectus. UOAT hopes to extend this interactive wireless presentation
niche within the realms of physics and chemistry.
For more info contact UOAT club president Adrion adrionk at uoregon.edu
5. Free Promo for Art & Technology
Allen Price Science Commons & Research Library Science and Technology
Outreach Librarian and Associate Professor, Dean Walton, is the person
in charge of media content featured on the biggest data visualization
screen in Oregon. Dean is constantly looking for Art & Technology Majors
who would like to submit videos of their Art/Tech projects. These videos
will be featured in a continuous loop for all Science and Technology
Majors to enjoy within the new library. Dean also heads up the new
DeArmond MakerSpace within the science library. Within this fully loaded
technical design lab Dean teaches students some of the basic concepts
surrounding hardware design, interactive game development and physical
dynamic data retrieval.
