The next  four-week DanceAbility Teacher Certification Course will be held July 1st to 27th, 2018, in Vienna, Austria, hosted by the incredible ImPulsTanz Festival. Other Courses may occur in April in Ecuador or September in Europe or North America. For details, contact us.

Greetings, friends of DanceAbility International! Cooler weather is putting that autumn energy in the air, so now is the time to register for our Fall classes, in Eugene, Cottage Grove, or Springfield!

Fall Class Schedule
In these creative movement classes, Certified DanceAbility Teacher Jana Meszaros guides participants through dance and movement exercises and explorations that build camaraderie, physical awareness and expressive capabilities. The unique DanceAbility method always ensures that nobody is isolated, regardless of abilities or disabilities. Managing Director Sara Zolbrod says, "DanceAbility classes give an opportunity to get creative and have profound connections with people from very diverse backgrounds."

We encourage most adults in Eugene to join the "Adults 1" class weekly on Thursdays at 5:00pm, but if 10:00am or 3:00pm on Thursdays are better times, please contact us about our special biweekly class (twice per month).

October Classes:
EUGENE Adults 1: Thursdays, 5:00 -- 6:00pm beginning October 19  through December 21

EUGENE Youth: Thursdays, 4:00 -- 5:00 pm beginning October 19 through December 21. (Suggested age is for 12 - 20 year olds but inquire for exceptions.)

COTTAGE GROVE: Combo Adults/Teens: Mondays 5:15 -- 6:15pm
beginning October 23 through December 18

SPRINGFIELD: Youth: Mondays, 3:45 -- 4:30pm. Please call or email to check about availability. (Suggested age is for 7 - 15 year olds but inquire for exceptions.)

November Classes:
EUGENE Adults 1: Thursdays, 5:00 - 6:00pm, through December 21

EUGENE Youth: Thursdays, 4:00 - 5:00pm, through December 21

Classes are $80 for a 9-week session. Full and partial scholarships are available to all who need them, and drop-ins ($10 per class or by donation) are welcome too.

EUGENE classes: Hilyard Community Center, 2580 Hilyard Street.

COTTAGE GROVE classes: CG Body Studio, 28 S 6th St., Suite B.

SPRINGFIELD classes: near 42nd and Main St., for children; address will be provided only to registrants.

SAVE THE DATE: We will have an informal performance and demonstration on Thursday, December 7th, tentatively scheduled for 7:00pm, at the University of Oregon; details will follow.

Weekly Contact Improvisation Jams, Eugene
These are every Wednesday, 6:00 - 8:15pm, at Xcape Dance in the Knights of the Pythias Building, 420 W. 12th Ave., at 12th and Lawrence, year-round. Joint Forces Dance Company's Sara Zolbrod is one of eight Contact Collective members that runs these.
Jams start with a Guided Warm-Up or Mini-Lesson for the first half hour (6:15 - 6:45 sharp), and then switch into open contact improvisation dancing after that. $5 - $14, sliding scale. If you will need access accommodations (like the chair-lift up the stairs), please be in touch ahead of time.

Volunteers Sought
To hear about office and studio volunteer opportunities, please be in touch. We are seeking a volunteer book-keeper for a few hours a week. Or, we can train you how to assist with grant research and writing (if you are a strong writer), among other opportunities.

If you work in a school and would like to bring a performance-assembly or workshop, please be in contact.
