Subject: Our Communities, Our Stories: UO Diversity Project

Hi. As per our conversation yesterday, I'm writing to ask you about help in finding some UO people with disabilities who might be interested in the Our Communities, Our Stories: UO Diversity Project that I am working on with the photographer/oral historian, Mickey Stellevone. It includes students, faculty and staff. You can see the link to the page here where I have begun to upload some of the people we have photographed and interviewed: https://inclusion.uoregon.edu/our-stories-our-communities-uo-diversity

I am pasting in here (and attaching as a word file) the "formal inquiry" we have been sending out to people. If there is anyone you know who might be interested and willing to be part of this project, please have them contact me or Mickey. I would really appreciate it. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks so much for your help.

You are cordially invited to take part in the Division of Equity and Inclusion's portrait and personal story project, Our Stories, Our Communities: UO Diversity. It is inspired by the 'Humans of New York" project and seeks to share stories that bring to light the diversity to be found across the UO campus. This will require no more than 20-30 minutes to complete. I can meet anywhere on campus to take your portrait.
Please feel free to view some of the portraits that have been taken:
https://inclusion.uoregon.edu/our-stories-our-communities-uo-diversity
In addition to the portraits, a short personal narrative will accompany your image. Can you provide short answers or anecdotes for the following questions (2-3 sentences maximum)?

  * Please introduce yourself (Name, major/year, department)
  *   Where is home?
  * What does your community at the University of Oregon look like?
  * What are main opportunities and challenges you have experienced at the UO and how have you approached or worked to resolve them?

Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you for your consideration.
