Dear Disability Law Section Members,
The Disability Law Section Executive Committee is pleased to wish you a Happy New Year and let you know about a section-relevant CLE being put on by the Oregon State Bar in February:

As indicated above, the OSB will be putting on a CLE re Accessibility and Accommodations in Your Law Practice on February 9 from 9 AM to 11 AM at the OSB Center in Tigard. Two general or access to justice credits are available.

If you are interested in this CLE (or another CLE), please remember that the Disability Law Section Executive Committee offers a CLE scholarship! Information below:
The recipient of the Committee’s scholarship will receive a scholarship to cover his or her registration fees at a law-related conference, as well as reimbursement for reasonable travel expenses. Applicants must either practice in Oregon, attend law school in Oregon, or have a personal connection to Oregon and intend on pursuing a legal career in the state. Grants will vary in quantity, depending on the successful recipient’s needs and availability of funds, but may include conference fees paid directly to the conference organizer and reimbursement for reasonable travel expenses, subject to approval by the Bar’s Executive Director.
Interested lawyers and law students may apply by submitting a letter of no more than two pages, addressed to the OSB Disability Law Section Executive Committee, to risa at risadavislaw.com<mailto:risa at risadavislaw.com>.
The deadline for submission if you are applying for a scholarship for the CLE listed above is 5 PM on January 23, 2017.
The application letter should include the following information:
· Your name and contact information;
· Whether you practice law in Oregon;
· Your law school, if you are a law student;
· Your year in law school, if you are a law student;
· Your connection to the state of Oregon, if you are not a practicing Oregon lawyer;
· Whether you intend to pursue a legal career in Oregon, if you are a law student;
· Your interest in pursuing a career in disability rights;
· Your experience advocating for persons with disabilities;
· Any experience overcoming barriers or discrimination;
· Name, date, and description of the conference for which funding is requested;
· How the conference for which funding is requested will result in your professional development;
· Whether you could attend without Committee funding; and
· Dollar amount requested from the Committee.
The scholarship is available for other CLEs as well. Submissions generally must be received at least 3 weeks before the CLE date.
