2013 Interns with Staff & Friends

rising college juniors and seniors with disabilities to come to Washington, DC, for an exciting hands-on nine-week internship program! You'll receive a week of training and orientation, followed by an eight-week internship at an international organization based in the Washington, DC, area. We pay for your costs, including reimbursement for your travel to and from DC (U.S. locations only), accessible housing during the program, and a frugal stipend meant to defray costs for meals, commute to office, and incidentals.

The United States International Council on Disabilities (USICD) launched its internship program in 2013. The program focuses on U.S. citizen youth with disabilities who intend to pursue careers in international development or foreign affairs. During the first three years of the program, we placed 21 interns with 16 host organizations.  It is anticipated that this year's program will run from May 29 to July 30, 2016. These dates may be subject to change.
