All, Please read Eugene's message and let me know by Fri. at 5 if you'd like to represent the DSI in the parade. You can also celebrate by attending the parade or signing the pledge and/or proclamation. Warmest Regards-Heidi hvr at uoregon.edu<mailto:hvr at uoregon.edu>

Heidi,
The 25th Anniversary of the ADA is occurring this month. There are a couple of commemorations about which I thought you should know.
First, the National ADA Networkis gathering signatures on a couple of documents. A Proclimation is available for government entities, businesses and groups to sign. The Network lists signers of the Proclimation by state.
To date only a handful of Oregon entities have signed on to the document. One of the entities is Oregon State University. Thus far the University of Oregon has not been represented by anyone.
I thought that you might be interested in securing a signature from the University or one or more of its departments. The proclamation can be found at adaanniversary.org.
Secondly, the same website displays a pledge for individuals to sign. Again, persons who sign the pledge are listed by state. Oregon has approximately 50 signatures. If you or any colleagues would like to sign the pledge, that could be done irrespective of any proclimations that may be forthcoming from University departments or groups.
Thirdly, we are holding an ADA Anniversary celebration on Saturday, July 25 at the Hiliard Center in Amazon Park. Part of the event will be a "parade" through the park. We are inviting our community partners to march in the parade with a placard that we would provide. If your department and/or student group is interested in participating, I invite you to do so. Please let me know as soon as possible of any intention to participate so we can prepare the placard(s).
And of course I would like to invite you to the celebration. It begins at 11:00 a.m. and will end no later than 2:00 pm. Participants in the parade are asked to arrive by 10:30 a.m.
I hope that you and your department can participate in the ADA Anniversary celebration.
