To UO Traveler and Travel Coordinators:

On December 4th, 2020 the CDC updated its travel guidance<https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/index.html> to encourage individuals to postpone travel or stay home to avoid spreading COVID-19. As such, the University's suspension of travel will remain in place. An exemption process is available and will evaluate the risk of the mode of travel and the activities engaged in at the destination.

As of December 7th, 2020 the authorization for travel approval will move from departments back to the Travel Advisory Group (TAG) as was the case in the spring. As of December 7, 2020, departments may not approve travel outside of the TAG exemption process. Travelers will continue to use the travel waiver form and acknowledgment of risk form to submit a request for an exemption within Concur. Trips where the travel and activity risk can be significantly mitigated will be considered for approval. Air travel will be closely scrutinized and only approved in very limited circumstances.

Domestic travel booked without an approved exemption will NOT be eligible for reimbursement. International travel booked without an approved exemption will NOT be eligible for reimbursement nor coverage under the UO's International Supplemental Travel insurance policy.

Information on the process for requesting an approval are available on the Travel Office's website: https://ba.uoregon.edu/travel/covid-19-travel-information
