[BAO news for travel administrators]

An important safety update for international travel at UO. Travel coordinators, please read:

Concur
Starting October 1, 2019 all travel registration and enrollment for international travel insurance coverage for University employees will be managed through Concur.  This change will improve employee access to insurance coverage information, improve UO's ability to assist travelers experiencing an emergency abroad, and streamline department billing.

Student groups or student travelers not registered through Concur or through Global Education Oregon (Study Abroad) may still register and enroll through Risk Management. For more information on insurance change, contact UO Risk Management at 6-8316, or email riskmanagement at uoregon.edu<mailto:riskmanagement at uoregon.edu>. International travel questions can be directed to travelsafe at uoregon.edu<mailto:travelsafe at uoregon.edu>.

Supplementary Insurance
Supplementary travel insurance will now be required for all international travel on behalf of UO. This low cost insurance covers accidents, sickness, security evacuations, emergency medical evacuations and travel assistance (but does not reimburse for trip cancellation or lost/stolen luggage.) Continuing coverage for up to 14 days of extended leisure travel, as well as coverage for dependents, is also available.

The cost of this insurance is $2.50 per person per day. These fees will automatically be charged to the index identified in the Concur travel request.

Tuesday, October 22 at 2pm, 1715 Franklin Room 271
Thursday, October 31 at 9am, 1715 Franklin Room 271

The following countries are excluded from this insurance coverage; however, additional coverage can be secured by working with the Office of Risk Management.

  *   Afghanistan
  *   Chechnya
  *   Iran
  *   Iraq
  *   Libya
