[Senate_cas_hum] Time Sensitive: Self-nominations to serve as CAS-Humanities Senator by April 2nd.

Dear CAS Humanities Faculty -

Because of a recent resignation, the Senate is looking for one new Senator from the Humanities for spring term 2020. The Senate does have a rule prohibiting more than two faculty members from a given department, and therefore faculty from Philosophy or Romance Languages are not eligible.

Serving as a Senator will ensure your division has a full voice in the Senate. The Senate meets from 3-5PM on alternate Wednesdays (the schedule is available online at https://senate.uoregon.edu/calendar/senate-meetings-2018-19/). Some agenda items for the rest of this year include revisions to teaching evaluations, and the Academic Continuity/Emergency Plan.

If you wish to self-nominate, or have any questions, please respond to Interim Dean of CAS Bruce Blonigen (casdean at uoregon.edu<mailto:casdean at uoregon.edu>) with a cc to me at senatepres at uoregon.edu<mailto:senatepres at uoregon.edu> by Monday, April 2nd at 5PM.

In case of multiple nominations, the appointment to the Senate will be determined by the elected CAS Dean’s Advisory Council. I suggest you include a few sentences describing your interest in shared governance and the Senate.

Thanks,

Bill Harbaugh
